![]() ![]() I then quit this menu, but the problem persisted. So after going in "Textstudio > Preferences > Build" I clicked on the Add button and entered pdflatex -shell-escape in the left cell and pdflatex -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode -shell-escape %.tex in the right cell as shown below: \beginĪs pointed out in another answer, the problem seems to be in the configuration option. Only then I get: Package minted Error: You must have `pygmentize' installed to use this package. I get as the first message: Package minted Error: You must invoke LaTeX with the -shell-escape flag. That means that it is correctly installed but that the latex editor cannot find it. Moreover, when I launch python from the Terminal and type import pygments no error message is displayed. So after typing pip3 show Pygments I get the path where that package is installed namely: /usr/local/lib/python3.7/site-packages. Requirement already satisfied: pygments in /usr/local/lib/python3.7/site-packages (2.3.1) which means that pip3 has installed on the machine. From Texstudio, I get an error message you must have pygmentize installed to use this package. Looking back, the TeXStudio log file faithfully reproduced what MiKTex itself reports through the GUI.I'm try to use the minted package in latex to display code in latex document. I'm pretty sure if the problem were one of permissions I'd be seeing a different kind of message from "get host by name failed in tcp_connect()". Perhaps it doesn't have a valid list of mirrors? It seems like MiKTex doesn't know how to contact CPAN servers (or wherever it tries to download the package from). ="get host by name failed in tcp_connect()" In fact, the log file I posted has the exact same information that the package manager's GUI displays, and this is the heart of the problem: I did try to install mptopdf through the MiKTeX package manager with the same results. I didn't try the registry hack, because I really don't think the problem here is a pdf conflict. I also tried to running TeXStudio as administrator. It operates on all folders and subfolders beneath. I navigated to D:\Program Files (x86) and assigned "Full control" permissions for the "Everyone" group, which allows global read/write/execute. ![]() All I want to do is compile this "hello world" style of LaTeX document. I'm not sure if the package installer is trying to connect to a repository or not. The log file yields slightly more information: INFO pdflatex - installing package mptopdf triggered by tex\context\base\supp-pdf.mkiiįATAL pdflatex - Info: ="get host by name failed in tcp_connect()"įATAL pdflatex - Source: Libraries\MiKTeX\PackageManager\PackageManager.cpp Log file: C:/Users/p/AppData/Local/MiKTeX/2.9/miktex/log/pdflatex.log Unfortunately, the package mptopdf could not be installed. Through experimentation, I believe this package manager is actually a part of MikTex, not texStudio.Ĭlicking "Install" yields an error message that states the package can't be installed: Process started: pdflatex.exe -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode The graphicx package pulls in a package called mptopdf which isn't installed, so a Package Installation is run to install it.
